This project consisted of removing an entire city block except for two buildings along with seven additional commercial structures within the city limits. All buildings in the NPP contract were sandwiched between the main artery through the city, Lysle Boulevard to the north, and 5th Avenue to the south. Five of the structures on the Blight Remediation contract were located on 5th Avenue as well. In addition to the traffic, a child daycare center was located directly across the street from the tallest building that was razed. Foundation walls were removed two feet below grade, all utilities were terminated, basement floors were broken and the voids were backfilled with clean fill and capped with topsoil. The entire site was graded, seeded, and mulched.
